The PHDS Regional Training Center
was established in 2007 within the frame of the EC funded program
"NGO and Governmental Cooperation across the South Caucasus to Develop a Joint Response to Trafficking in Women and Children” for training of law enforcement officers and social workers involved in the field of trafficking.
The activities of the Center have been expanded wider to the Black Sea Region with implementation of the EC funded
"Program of Cooperation in the Area of Migration in the Black Sea Region between the Countries of Origin, Transit and Migration", which was actually the logical continuation of the previous program.
The training courses of the Center are carried out by
skillful
trainers and facilitators from Georgia with involvement of internationally recruited specialists and
highly qualified experts
possessing relevant practical experience, knowledge and expertise from the countries of Black Sea Region and European Union.
Today, the Center offers courses on a big variety of disciplines including:
- Training courses for law enforcement officers, social workers, representatives of mass media means and journalists working in the field of irregular migration and trafficking
- Training courses on "Prevention of Trafficking in Children" for the teachers of secondary educational schools
- Special courses on the specifics of irregular migration and trafficking for the students and undergraduates of high educational institutes
- Special courses on gender issues for the representatives of state structures and NGO's
- Training courses on organizational development and capacity building, including strategic planning and management, governance and management, legal issues, program planning and implementation, financial and resource management
The efficient operation of the Regional Training Center is ensured by the PHDS Regional Training Center Management Manual developed within the frame of the "Program of Cooperation in the Area of Migration in the Black Sea Region between the Countries of Origin, Transit and Destination" describing the basic management procedures and structures including the profiles of the courses, physical parameters and participation quota, procedure of recruitment of trainers/participants, mechanisms for monitoring and evaluation (internal and external monitoring, evaluation schemes for the experts and participants), communication and experience sharing; plan of activities, etc. Attached to the Manual is the technical documentation necessary for announcement and conduction of each course including the participant's package (application, learning contract, resume template, evaluation form, motivation letter, training request form), terms of references for the trainers, experts, announcement for recruitment of trainers; course running schedule and action plan, terms of reference for elaboration and conduction of the distance learning course, etc.
