Nazarova Tsovinar:

The program "Cooperation in the Black Sea Region in the Area of Migration between the Countries of Origin, Transit and Destination" consolidates efforts of the Georgian, Ukrainian and Greek communities targeted at prevention of illegal migration; rising awareness of the society on threats and risks connected with illegal border-crossing, slave labour and violations of human rights due to illegal residence on the territory of the foreign country.

Photographic competition “Quo Vadis?” carried out on the site www.boke.ge  allowed us to draw the public attention to the problems of illegal migration and trafficking in human beings and learn, to what extent the problem is comprehended by the society; to reveal the stereotypes existing in people's minds. The competition has attracted public attention: total of 93 photos taken by 25 authors were exposed on the site, being viewed 17 000 times.

We suppose to make the competition yearly. As Georgia strives to become a full member of the European society, it is crucially important for every citizen of Georgia to realize his/her personal responsibility and act in compliance with the law. Also it is absolutely necessary for the statehood of Georgia to raise awareness to the level than all citizens of the state are successful and employed in their own country. Then the photos will reflect more joy instead of sorrow!

The authors of the best photos will be awarded on the presentation

The exhibition opens on 29 July 2010, at 19.00
